Founded in 1819, Clynelish is one of Diageo’s workhorse distilleries, churning out malt that’s blended into their Johnnie Walker range. We got a dram from the independent bottler Signatory, a relatively new (not 200 year old) bottler located on-site with Edradour distillery in the middle of Scotland.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Melon, sweet massage oil, heavy cream, white chocolate truffle, orange cream, cantaloupe, hint of root beer and cocoa.
Palate: That wonderful mouthfeel of a Clynelish. Crayola coating, liquid butter, orange, honeysuckle, sherbet, more cantaloupe, golden raisins, petrol.
Summary
8 out of 10.
TLDR: “Orange creamsicle Crayola.”
Overview: For sherbet lovers, this is a creamy and wonderful dram.
