The Scottish Pirate

For Tipple Tuesday #5, we put together a two ingredient cocktail featuring Barrell rum and PX Sherry. If you’re going to go two ingredients, I figured I’d try one of the more complex base spirits.

“This may be very bad” I warned my wife. I was wrong. It’s delicious.

It’s powerful stuff. It has the funk of a pure Jamaican pot still rum, a bit of Islay brine and saltiness, and more raisin than an old lady’s purse stuffed with Fig Newtons. Prost.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Barrell Rum Tale of Two Islands
  • .5 oz Lustau Pedro Ximenez Sherry

Glass

Cognac Glass

Instructions

  • Add all ingredietns to a shaker with ice
  • Shake and strain into a Cognac glass
