Nose: White sugar cubes and peat. toasted wood floorboards, marshmellow, burnt straw, Candied oranges and apples, bandaids, peaches.⁠
⁠
Palate: Instant peat but is soft and not overbearing. Vanilla and fudgey sweetness comes through and then ends on a lingering wafting salty smoke. Honey, Sauvignon Blanc .⁠
⁠
Finish: Long long finish of smoke on the tongue, like roasted barrel staves, I can feel it minutes afterward.⁠

Instagram post 2189589693150526371_3258539154 Review of the Peat's Beast Pedro Ximenez Cask Strength, a single malt whisky from an unnamed distillery from Islay by an independent bottler. We haven't seen this in the US so we had to try it.  Nose. Burnt rubber. Raisin, tar, coconut cream, and black cherry coke.
Palate. Rubbery, hot, coal smoke, potassium. Ripples of sweet damp fall leaves and charred blackened vanilla.

Guessing it is not a Caol Ila because the smoke is briny instead of BBQ. Maybe Ardbeg or Laphroaig?

0.25 oz banane du bresil Giffard  Simple and delicious with just enough banana. Yuuum.

We had a foie gras fat washed bourbon cocktail earlier that evening. Shown are the tiempo (negroni variant) and the altitudes (saline and mushroom)  Both Barcelona bars give you a drink and a show, but unlike El Paradiso, the bartenders (not the cocktails) are the main showpiece. So much effortless flair! Also the drinks were all interesting in their infusion choices
